POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Shift Supervisor / Stationary Engineer is a dual-role, journeyman-level position responsible for supervising and executing the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of complex facility systems during assigned shifts when the Project Manager is not on site. This role ensures the uninterrupted functionality of critical infrastructure systems that support the corporate campus mission. The Shift Supervisor acts as the on-duty lead and primary decision-maker, while also performing hands-on maintenance and equipment monitoring tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman-level technical skills with at least four (4) years of recent experience (within the past 7 years) operating and maintaining complex building systems in large and highly complex facilities.
  • Strong understanding of critical infrastructure operations, particularly in mission-critical or government facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and control systems.
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding building operations and lead shift personnel effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail for documentation and reporting.
  • Stationary Engineer license or certification.
  • Training or certification in HVAC, boiler operation, or electrical systems.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms and BAS controls.
  • Prior experience working in a federal, secure, or mission-critical facility environment (preferred).

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site supervisor and decision-maker during assigned shifts, ensuring contract operations continue without disruption in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain a wide range of facility systems, including:
  • HVAC equipment
  • Low-pressure boilers and chillers
  • Emergency generators
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
  • Electrical and high-voltage switchgear
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire protection and alarm systems
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Perform and document preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to alarms, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement immediate solutions or escalate as appropriate.
  • Supervise and assist team members or subcontractors working on shift to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with performance standards.
  • Communicate all critical events, activities, and decisions to the Project Manager and/or COR in a timely manner.
  • Maintain logs, inspection records, and shift handoff reports for transparency and operational continuity.
