The Opportunity The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking to hire a proactive and skilled team member to deliver hands-on engineering and general maintenance support for our Engineering team. The Building Engineer- General Maintenance will perform various tasks around the building with regard to maintenance. Their work will pertain to HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, carpentry and painting. This position will provide customer service to various departments and entities and may encounter many challenges. The Building Engineer-Maintenance must be able to communicate well with co-workers and various departments. This position has an emphasis on electrical, therefore a strong background in electrical will be required. In This Role You Will Become familiar the building control system and all components associated with the climate control system, including the monitoring and scheduling system. Maintains facility-wide preventative maintenance program. Assists Engineering and Facilities Manager with building repairs and preventative maintenance. Input, track and close out all building repairs and preventative maintenance using internal work order system. Provides technical support, oversees and/or assists with repairs and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment. Other duties as assigned. The Experience You Will Bring The Experience You’ll Bring: AA/AS Degree or Vocational Certification in related field preferred. HVAC certification/licensing preferred. Proficient at reading schematics / architectural drawings. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment. Dynamic, hardworking, confident. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required. Basic carpentry and painting skills. Understanding of commercial kitchen equipment. Comfortable working in environments that may involve handling or being around various building materials and substances, with appropriate safety measures in place. This position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Nice to Have: Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
