We are seeking a full-time Building Engineer with experience in senior living environments - such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory support - and a strong commitment to serving older adults. The Building Engineer ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and equipment, including utilities, energy management, life safety, fire protection, and security, while maintaining the facility in optimal condition. Key Responsibilities: Maintain all building systems daily, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, life safety, security, lighting, and building automation systems. Monitor and document maintenance activities through the Building Management System (BMS). Complete preventative maintenance on schedule to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Perform general building upkeep to ensure occupant safety, comfort, and optimal facility operation. Assist with design, implementation, and upgrades of facility modifications and capital projects. Ensure compliance with federal and state safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Monitor building performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability. Support inspections and audits for safety, environmental, and operational compliance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and projects. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 5 - 8 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in high-rise or long-term care settings. Proficient in using Building Management Systems (BMS) for maintenance tracking and system monitoring. Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and facility operations. Familiar with relevant codes and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, etc.). Experience managing projects and contractor services. Skilled in CMMS, Worx Hub, and other facility management software.
