Job Description Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, the incumbent will be required to handle a variety of changing duties resulting from the complexities of equipment such as boilers, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and other hospital specific equipment. Accountabilities: Operation of the boilers, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and other hospital specific equipment (medical gas supply, medvac systems, etc.) Perform daily inspections of boilers and HVAC systems: test boiler feed water, open and closed loop water systems for chemical concentrations, make adjustments when necessary Complete daily rounds and update logs Responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment including minor repairs of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps and other equipment Remove/repair pipework, valves, motors, pumps, heat exchangers and compressors as required Work independently and in conjunction with others on all physical plant equipment maintenance and repairs Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for physical plant equipment such as wheeled equipment and other assets (wheelchairs, beds, stretchers, etc.) Perform minor plumbing repairs to washroom sinks, toilets and hoppers etc. Respond to fire alarms and operate fire alarm equipment as required Outdoor tasks may include emergency snow removal, sanding and grounds keeping as required Assist in moving and lifting of equipment and supplies in the plant Other duties as may be assigned from time to time Qualifications Successful graduate of the BES program, Level 1 and 2, required Minimum of three years of recent related experience required Minimum secondary school diploma required Previous operational experience in an automated boiler/HVAC plant is required Previous maintenance and operational experience in a hospital setting would be an asset Extensive knowledge and experience with building automation system computers and related DDC and pneumatic peripheral devices and controls (preferably Honeywell systems) Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, layouts and specifications Ability to evaluate condition of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems and other related equipment and to report same as necessary Ability to make judgments based on knowledge and experience concerning the timing, type and extent of a repair of all building related equipment Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Must be willing to work at all Osler sites as required Additional Information Currently Days/Evenings, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements) Salary: Minimum: $33.44 per hour Maximum: $36.18 per hour Internal application deadline: December 17, 2025 Osler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
