The Building Maintenance Contracts Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring the upkeep, repair, and efficient operation of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This role involves managing contracts, liaising with contractors, and supporting the delivery of maintenance services across various sites. The officer ensures compliance with organisational standards and contributes to a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. What you’ll be doing: Oversee and manage maintenance contracts for facilities and equipment. Coordinate with contractors to ensure timely and quality service delivery. Monitor the condition of buildings and infrastructure, identifying maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and contract performance. Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks as required. Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand maintenance requirements. Support the implementation of preventative maintenance programs. Participate in audits and inspections as required. Provide administrative and community engagement support to a range of programs and activities. Provide support to maintain systems and contact databases that support networks and community stakeholder contacts (both internal and external) for the team. Provide operational support, including monitoring and reporting on milestones, and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role: Relevant qualifications in facility management, building maintenance, or a related field and/or relevant experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write reports, plans, and submissions. Well-developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively engage with diverse community members, customers, management and employees. Strong skills in working across the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated experience in building maintenance and contract management. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills. Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple maintenance activities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety and compliance standards.
