The Building Maintenance Engineer will be a key part of our team at North Point Mall, a premier retail destination in Alpharetta, Georgia. As the city has grown and evolved into a key commercial and residential hub, so has North Point Mall. Serving a wide trade area, the mall offers a curated mix of national retailers, unique local shops, dining, and entertainment. Overview: The Building Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural systems of the shopping center. Job Type & Schedule: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Routinely inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, fans, and air handling units (AHUs), and clean cooling towers. Testing & Inspection: Conduct monthly fire pump and generator testing. Regularly inspect facility systems, replace filters, and grease components as needed. Documentation: Maintain logs to document maintenance activities and ensure proper inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools. Property Upkeep: Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, drywall, and basic carpentry. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all applicable standards and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, to maintain a safe working environment. Team Support: Assist other departments, such as Marketing with event setup, and work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of the property. Requirements Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of building maintenance experience with skills in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of electrical systems, fire protection hydraulic and alarm systems. The ability to read and interpret plans and schematic drawings is required. Physical: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Personal: A self-starter with the ability to work independently, diagnose equipment problems, and apply common sense to solve issues. Other: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, along with technical school certifications. A valid Driver's License is required.
