Job Description

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of all systems and equipment within the hotel. The Building Maintenance Operator will carry out troubleshooting and minor repairs of the hotel’s mechanical and electrical systems, primarily in guest and public areas as required to ensure total guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and carrying out minor repairs to all equipment, related to the chilled water system, potable and non-potable water systems, steam lines and heating water systems, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and the HVAC systems.
  • Shall respond to guest requests from Royal Service to carry out repairs and maintenance in guest rooms and public areas including, but not limited to, toilets, bathtubs & sinks, a/c units, TV, remote controls, windows, furniture, switches, receptacles, light bulbs etc..
  • Responsible for maintaining all work areas, mechanical and electrical rooms in a clean and safe condition.
  • Responsible for coordinating with others to maintain an adequate stock of supplies and parts such as needed for day-to-day maintenance.
  • Shall work in compliance with codes and Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Respond to Royal Service Calls, work orders, and emails in a timely manner as requested and ensure they are all completed as required.
  • To attend training courses, workshops, seminars, or schooling to ensure that you are kept up to date and current on all technology related to your job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Will work weekends, holidays, and shift work as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent guest service and be able to communicate in the English language
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of the HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems within the hotel
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Ability to carry out troubleshooting and minor repairs of hotel systems
  • Knowledge of WHMIS & OHSA
