Description Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician II - with Under Fill Terms: Full Time / Non-Exempt / Full Benefits Salary: $25.18 to $27.95 per hour, Grade 6 Application Deadline: January 26, 2026 About the Role: Under supervision of the Department Head, is responsible for performing technical installation, repair, and maintenance of County owned buildings, property, and related facilities, including the repair, monitoring, and installation of specialized equipment or operating systems. Interaction with Burleigh Morton County Detention Center personnel and possibly inmates may occur. This position will be required to participate in the on-call rotation. Responsibilities: Provides building and equipment maintenance in multiple disciplines including high voltage electrical, HVAC and refrigeration. Ability to adjust and monitor computerized controls; and adjust and monitor security detention equipment. Ability to read blueprints. Working on garbage disposals, dishwashers, and trash compactors. Assists in the project planning, cost estimating and project prioritization process. Provides maintenance of sidewalks including the use of a power blower, sweepers, and snow removal equipment. Repairs chiller systems, hot water boilers and steam boilers. Performs chemical testing of boiler and cooling towers. Responsible for checking and testing of generators and grease interceptors. Responds to afterhours emergency calls regarding building security, malfunctioning equipment, or systems, and make or arrange for necessary repairs. Responds to inquiries and complaints regarding the maintenance of assigned buildings and grounds. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a comparable position. Must possess a valid class D North Dakota driver's license, and a clean driving record. Applicant will be subject to a criminal background check, physical and pre-employment drug screen. Journeyman level of skill required. Building Maintenance Technician I: Must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate or GED certified.
