Responsibilities

The Building Management Systems Specialist for Unite Students` Digital Property Systems is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, management, and continual improvement of critical digital tools and platforms that support property management, facilities operations, and environmental health and safety (EHS). These include Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS), Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Common Data Environments (CDE), Building Information Modelling (BIM), and other related technologies such as Smart Building, BMS, CAAT, PPM & PM.
The role bridges technical teams, business stakeholders, and operational users to ensure seamless integration, performance, and value delivery of these systems.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Define and maintain the strategic vision for digital property systems, ensuring alignment with business needs, sustainability goals, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the roadmap for systems like IWMS, CAFM, CMMS, and EAM, ensuring alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, and regulatory requirements across all systems.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of digital property platforms, ensuring they deliver measurable value to the business.
  • Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each system.
  • Monitor system integration across Smart Buildings, Building Management Systems (BMS), and IoT-based technologies.
  • Ensure seamless operation and maintenance of systems like BIM, CDE, CAAT, and PPM tools.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational leads to manage incidents, changes, and upgrades across all platforms.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and oversee long-term fixes.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for business stakeholders using digital property systems.
  • Engage with facilities managers, project managers, EHS teams, and external vendors to ensure systems meet operational needs.
  • Build strong relationships with software providers and external consultants to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead Smart Building and digital twin initiatives, integrating BMS, IoT, and real-time data analytics into existing platforms.
  • Ensure that systems like CAFM and CMMS are optimized for predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Champion the integration of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) tools with other digital platforms to support regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Proven experience managing enterprise systems like IWMS, CAFM, CMMS, EAM, or BIM in a corporate or property management setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Smart Buildings technologies, Building Management Systems (BMS), IoT, and integration practices.
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing SLAs, KPIs, and budgets for digital systems.
  • Experience with EHS platforms and integrating them with property or facilities management systems.
  • Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks for digital property solutions.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and their integration with digital property systems.
  • Experience in Agile or DevOps environments.
  • Knowledge of project and portfolio management (PPM) tools and practices.
  • BCS Service Management certifications or equivalent (e.g., ITIL 4 Managing Professional).
  • Bachelor`s degree in IT, Property Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications in digital property tools (e.g., IWMS, CAFM, or BIM).
  • BCS Service Management Certification (preferred).
