As a Building Manager, you will be at the centre of how our retail and commercial properties operate. You'll manage the day-to-day running of a critical portfolio from maintenance and compliance through to presentation and customer experience. You'll be the person our customers and contractors rely on, and the first to know when something needs attention. Day to Day Run the portfolio day to day Coordinate operations, maintenance, and contractor activity across your retail and commercial properties to keep everything running to a high standard. Be the first point of contact Manage building-related queries and issues for customers, service providers, and internal stakeholders with clear, timely communication. Own property presentation Conduct regular inspections (daily, weekly, quarterly) to make sure properties are well-maintained, safe, and presented to the standard our customers expect. Manage compliance Ensure all operations meet legislative, WHS, and Goodman requirements. This includes contractor inductions, documentation, safe work practices, and quality of workmanship. Coordinate with specialist teams Work closely with Operations SME teams (e.g. Fire) and contractors to plan and deliver works with minimal disruption to customers and retail and commercial operations. Drive risk management Lead regular inspections and audits to identify property risks and put controls in place before issues escalate. Keep accurate records Maintain a daily log of property operations, maintenance activity, and any incidents (accidents, near misses, complaints, security breaches), and report through the appropriate channels. Provide emergency support Be available for 24-hour property emergency assistance as required. About you Experience in building or facilities management, ideally within a retail, commercial, or mixed-use environment. Hands-on knowledge of building services — mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulic, and physical/structural elements. Solid understanding of compliance frameworks including the BCA, WHS legislation, and how they apply to retail and commercial assets. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple properties and competing priorities. Clear communicator who builds trust with customers, contractors, and internal teams. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exposure to technology, Monday.com highly regarded Relevant tertiary qualification in property, building, facilities management, or a related trade/services discipline.
