Role Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Manager to oversee the provision of facilities services to occupiers in one or more of our managed buildings. The role involves managing large trophy asset buildings (100,000 sq ft upwards) and ensuring they meet the highest standards of service and compliance.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 7 years of facilities management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the property industry or a similar business line.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness.
  • An advocate of change and operational business improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A-levels
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • IWFM Level 3 or equivalent
  • Associate RICS or MIWFM
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • Building services engineering certificate level qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree (desirable)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a safety-first approach to all aspects of building compliance.
  • Act as the responsible person for Health and Safety, including Fire Safety.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including soft and hard services.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for occupiers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Support customer fit-outs, ensuring they are practical, safe, and fit for purpose.
  • Line manage Assistant Building Managers, including recruitment, performance reviews, and development.
  • Drive initiatives to support The Crown Estate’s goal of a net zero carbon estate by 2030.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with estate service partners.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure performance requirements are met.
  • Understand and manage the financial aspects of the property, including service charge budgets.
  • Be on call for any building emergencies, ensuring safety is the top priority.
  • Develop and maintain occupier handbooks and ensure compliance with all safety and maintenance protocols.
