Peterson is seeking a Building Operator to join our team in Burnaby. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for tenants. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, support contractors, and help keep the property in excellent condition. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering quality service and maintaining well-run buildings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate, monitor, and maintain building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, pumps, fire alarms, and automation systems. * Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to reduce equipment downtime. * Respond promptly to tenant service requests and after-hours emergency calls on a rotating basis. * Conduct regular building inspections and recommend system or equipment improvements. * Maintain building exteriors by addressing litter, snow/ice removal, and minor repairs. * Support contractors by obtaining quotes and ensuring timely completion of work orders. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and building codes. QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma required; technical training in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems an asset. * 1–3 years of experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related field. * Working knowledge of building systems, codes, and safe work practices. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Angus, Avigilon, and Keyscan is an asset. * Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. * Availability for on-call shifts and emergency response. Salary Range: $64,000 - $69,000 per year based on experience
