QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in building operations and maintenance.
  • A minimum high school diploma
  • 4th/5th Class Power Engineering certification would be considered an asset
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • An ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract on a yearly basis.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new maintenance software.
  • Working knowledge of building systems and controls, HVAC systems, Preventative Maintenance, Fire & Life Safety, Plumbing, Electrical, trouble shooting and repairs
  • Experience with BAS (Building Automation Systems) is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings; knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act; knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMS) and First Aid training

Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Operator will play a key role in ensuring that the property is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a positive experience for both visitors and tenants. Your role will involve maintaining high standards of facility upkeep, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the Property Management Team in meeting operational objectives.
You will be a vital part of the team, providing critical support to maintain the property’s quality and safety while effectively communicating and collaborating with various stakeholders. This is an ideal role for someone who is detail-oriented, passionate about customer service, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
