Job Description As a Building Physics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assessing and optimizing the environmental performance and occupant well-being aspects of our projects. Your expertise in conducting simulation exercises will inform the design process, ensuring sustainable and high-performance buildings. Additionally, your collaboration with the sustainability team and effective communication skills will facilitate the achievement of various sustainability certifications. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects and make a significant impact in the field of building physics. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Conduct early design stage simulations to assess climatic data and evaluate passive and active design strategies. Prepare comprehensive reports on passive design strategies based on simulation results, effectively communicating design constraints and opportunities to key stakeholders. Maintain a high level of professional responsibility while delivering the required services. Ensure clear and effective communication with the sustainability team, presenting analysis results in a manner that is easily understood by the design team and clients. Collaborate with the sustainability team to provide the necessary evidence for achieving various sustainability certification requirements. Proficiency in performing daylight analysis, quality views assessments, open spaces simulations, and grasshopper calculations. Conduct detailed Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) simulations to assess outdoor thermal comfort levels achieved by the design, proposing cost-effective strategies for improvement. Assist in the preparation of technical presentations and participate in client briefings to showcase the technical aspects of projects. Qualifications A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, or a related field. Proven experience in sustainability or similar role, with a strong background in simulations, and sustainable design practices. Proficiency in using simulation software such as Rhino Modelling, Ladybug Tools, GH Scripting, and CFD tools. Familiarity with sustainability certification programs (e.g., LEED) and their requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex technical concepts. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and reliable analysis results. Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities, working seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams. Professional certifications (e.g., LEED AP) would be a plus.
