We have an opportunity for a Building Safety Officer to join us. You’ll be based from our Wembley office; combining office and home working to ensure a positive work/life balance.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Knowledge and experience of building safety, fire safety, building regulations, health and safety legislation.
  • Wide knowledge base within residential property and related safety / compliance areas.
  • Understanding of building construction methods and passive/active fire protection.
  • Qualifications or studying towards : NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Diploma in Building Safety or equivalent.
Responsibilities

The Building Safety Officer will work collaboratively with peers, supporting the Building Safety Managers, to provide a consistent approach to building safety management of applicable buildings to ensure SNG are fulfilling all landlord obligations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that SNG are adhering to all building safety requirements for our high-risk properties.
  • Assessing building safety risks, taking all reasonable steps to prevent the occurrence of a major incident in the building because of these risks.
  • Ensuring that buildings are compliant with all building safety compliance regulation / legislations.
  • Maintaining effective relationships both internally and externally with customers and third parties.
  • Organising proactive engagement events, fostering a trustworthy relationship with our customers, involving key stakeholders and taking appropriate follow-up action where required.
  • Developing building safety cases and ensure they remain up to date. Any risks or gaps identified to have the appropriate mitigation in place and managed on an ongoing basis.
  • Collating and maintaining information on vulnerable customers living in high-risk buildings and ensure this information is readily available in the event of an emergency.
