Description:

McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Junior Building Science EIT/Technologist to join our Asset Management team at our Burnaby, BC location. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of technical building science and project management experience and has a keen interest in the field of asset management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered or eligible to register as an AScT with ASTTBC or EIT/ with EGBC
  • Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, and Autodesk Revit/CAD an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE 90.1, NEBC, and relevant standards
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the following Asset Management projects:
  • Condition Assessments
  • Capital and Maintenance Planning
  • Depreciation Reports / Reserve Fund Studies
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Perform site reviews / field investigation
  • Review of drawings, specifications and other relevant technical and financial document
  • Perform quantity takeoffs / estimating
  • Develop budgets and cash flows
  • Research building materials and maintain and update internal templates, database and library
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other specialty consultants as necessary
  • Attend client meetings
