Responsibilities:

  • Work within the MH specialist Building Science team in the preparation of designs, design drawings, contract documents, and engineering specifications for our work
  • Complete building envelope testing in the field
  • Carry out diagnosis of building problems required to design building envelope repairs
  • Conduct building condition assessments and related project work
  • Conduct in-situ air and water leakage testing of windows, curtain wall, window wall, glazed architectural structures, and cladding assemblies
  • Carry out field review during new and/or rehabilitation construction work and report on progress and the builder’s adherence to contract documentation
  • Recommend practical application of theories and data derived from engineering research
  • Determine basic operating policies, devising ways of reaching program objectives, meeting any unusual conditions affecting work progress
  • Review and report on project mock-ups
  • Perform periodic site visits and utilize a site visit reporting system to identify and update action items

Q ualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • Knowledge of building science and building physics, such as; thermodynamics, heat transfer, psychometrics, architectural conservation, and building structures
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and other engineering and office related application software
  • An interest in construction, the performance of buildings, field review/investigation, and materials science
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
  • Experience writing construction specification
  • Organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Verbal and written skills in English a must
