REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a focus on Building Sciences, structural, building envelope or architectural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience in a Consulting firm setting, with a focus on projects related to Building Sciences, building rememdiation, structural remediation, energy retrofits, and related.
  • Experience with client relations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in areas related to building sciences and structures.
  • Understanding of building construction, including methods, materials, and systems is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to details, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, self-driven, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to provide leadership to junior engineers and technicians.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands – Work is performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e. industrial, construction and/or residential sites). The employee is frequently required to stand, walk on sloped and flat roofs, sit, climb ladders, bend, climb inside attics, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to client sites or job sites. Working at heights, including accessing buildings by ladders, swing stages, and mechanical lifts will be necessary. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary. The employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports.
Overtime – This position is classified as exempt. There will be some occasions where overtime (or working after normal business hours) will be required to meet the demands of the position.
Travel – This position requires up to 30% local area travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
The Salary Range for this position is $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
