Description
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain specialist laboratory and research facility mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, fume cupboards, autoclaves, safety cabinets, and -80°C freezers
Oversee safe systems of work for in-house teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with statutory and HSE requirements
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance programmes within agreed budgets, maintaining asset registers and records
Manage small-scale projects, refurbishments, and improvements from inception to completion, including design, procurement, and commissioning
Support compliance with all relevant regulations and codes of practice, particularly within specialist laboratory environments
Promote energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, contributing to LSTM’s Net Zero targets
Supervise and monitor contractors, ensuring work meets required standards, timelines, and cost parameters
Lead the development and implementation of Building Management Systems (BMS) across LSTM
Undertake regular site inspections, risk assessments, and produce SOPs to support safe, efficient building services operations
