Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Glasgow, Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.
Salary: c£50-£55,000 depending on experience + car/cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

SSEN Transmission have a number of opportunities for building services engineers to provide specialist engineering support on high profile and technically complex HVDC Converter Station and substation projects.
These roles would suit an Experienced Building Services Engineer who has worked in a Consulting Environment or Contractor looking to take the next step into a client-side organisation.
Although Power Transmission experience is preferred it is not needed. Candidates with building service experience within data centres, industrial process systems (O&G, Chemical etc), and water industries are encouraged to apply.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define project scope and design from concept through to commissioning, including involvement in tenders, design reviews, and HAZID/HAZCON/HAZOP sessions.
  • Champion best practice in building services design, identifying improvements, innovative technologies, and managing engineering risks.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team using Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM) to coordinate 3D models, manage clash detection, and respond to RFIs/TQs.
  • Support installation and commissioning phases as an NEC Supervisor, ensuring technical compliance and quality.
  • Work with Technical Authorities and the Engineering Manager to manage specification deviations, report progress, and mitigate project risks.
