CUPE JOB POSTING Position: Building Services Operator Department: Facilities Services File #: 5154 Role Level: CUPE9- $35.525 Status: Temporary Part Time - Approx. 12 months Hours of Work/Shift: Availability for all shifts required - Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Overnight Site: Credit Valley Hospital, with the flexibility to travel across sites for operational needs Posted: October 30, 2025 Internal Deadline: November 6, 2025 *The location of any vacancy/position may be changed or reassigned as per operational needs Position Summary: Responsible for the efficient control and management of all plant and equipment – e.g. chillers, boilers, generators, fire, water treatment, centrifugal pumps and various air-handling systems Ensure regular operational checks and maintain the Operational Log. Carry out planned and demand maintenance on all plant & equipment and update CMMS. The role includes responsibility for Emergency Response - e.g. Fire, Flood, System Failure etc. Compliance with all Corporate OH&S Policies, Procedures and Programs. Work within a rotation shift schedule and be available on call to attend to emergencies. Performs other related duties as required Key Qualifications: Post-Secondary Technical Education. Completion of Building Environmental Systems course I and II required. Certificate of Qualification as issued by the Ontario Department of Labour, Stationary Engineering Certificate or Refrigeration B Certificate will be an asset. A minimum of three years’ experience in Plant Operations, preferably in an institutional environment. Mechanical / electrical aptitude, trouble shooting skills and experience with HVAC and Coil Tube Boilers. Proficient in the use of computers as it relates to the job Ability to use a Building Automation System program preferably Johnson Controls Metasys and Honeywell EBI Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills. Ability to read blue print drawings.
