Responsibilities

You’ll work from a mix of home, office, and community locations. Most weeks, you’ll spend 1–2 days in our Bodmin office with time on-site and in residents’ homes.

As a Building Surveyor, you will:

  • Deliver a responsive, right-first-time repairs and maintenance service across our housing stock.
  • Diagnose building defects, prepare technical reports and ensure remedial works are completed to high standards.
  • Work across responsive repairs, voids, capital investment and compliance teams to ensure a joined-up and efficient service.
  • Lead inspections, manage contractor performance, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.
  • Proactively manage complaints, ensuring professional communication, thorough resolution, and compliance with the Housing Ombudsman’s Code.
  • Conduct property surveys and support stock condition intelligence to help shape investment planning.
