Building Technologies Engineer (BMS Specialist) Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We’re looking for a Senior or Associate-level Building Technologies Engineer with deep expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Smart Buildings to join our growing Building Specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of smart, people-centric buildings across New Zealand and beyond. You’ll play a key role in delivering complex and high-profile projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, and aviation. You’ll also lead the development of our BMS and Smart Buildings team, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic initiatives across the region. We cover many Technology Services, including Audio-Visual, Connectivity, or Electronic security. Our work spans iconic hospitals, universities, airports, and commercial towers. Ko wai koe | About you You bring a strong foundation in BMS design, integration, and project delivery, ideally gained through experience in consulting or contracting environments. You’re confident engaging with clients and stakeholders, and skilled at leading or contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams. Your background likely includes: Delivering BMS and smart building solutions across sectors such as healthcare, education, airports, and commercial developments. Designing and integrating systems within Integrated Building Platforms (IBP), including access control, lighting, metering, vertical transport, and security. Managing project lifecycles from concept design through to commissioning and handover. Demonstrating strong stakeholder engagement, documentation control, and quality assurance. A genuine passion for digital buildings and creating responsive, people-centred environments. You’ll ideally hold a degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Systems Engineering, supported by relevant certifications such as security consultant approvals, and practical experience with platforms like Honeywell, Tridium, or similar systems.
