CHRIS ROSE THERAPY AND RESOURCE TEACHER

This is a 1.0 FTE Continuing position effective September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2028.
This is a position of Special Responsibility and will be filled by competition.
The Chris Rose Therapy and Resource Teacher position is designed to support the learning of students who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a specialized and focused learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree or Diploma in Special Education with a specialty in Autism
  • Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, organizational, communication and teaching skills

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the education program of students at the Chris Rose Therapy Centre
  • Provide direct instruction to students at the Chris Rose Therapy Centre
  • Ongoing liaison with students’ catchment school team to ensure effective educational program delivery
  • Coordinate students’ transition planning back to catchment school
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of IEPs
  • Liaise with outside agencies
  • Support the care, use and management of assistive technology
  • Provide modeling and mentorship to home school staff according to evidence-based practice
  • Work collaboratively with families to support transition back to home school
  • Any other duties as needed
