Your Job
As our Bunker Procurement Intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience working directly with a diverse, global team, including freight traders and seasoned operations professionals-many of whom bring years of maritime expertise as former ship captains. Under the mentorship of the Senior Bunker Procurement Coordinator, you will develop skills in bunker fuel management, market analysis, contract negotiation, and post-bunkering operations.

Responsibilities
  • Learn about different grades of bunkers (Fuel oil, Gasoil, LNG) and their pricing mechanisms.
  • Understand port-specific bunkering requirements.
  • Analyze various paper markets and their impacts on physical bunker markets.
  • Negotiate, execute, and follow up on bunker orders.
  • Review General Terms and Conditions of contracts.
  • Manage post-bunkering activities such as invoicing settlement.
  • Resolve claims and disputes tactfully and professionally.
  • Take ownership of bunker planning portfolios in collaboration with stakeholders (Freight Traders, Vessel Operators).
  • Ensure smooth and efficient bunkering operations to optimize profits.
  • Independently negotiate and finalize bunker contracts, working closely with legal and counterparties.
  • Conduct market dynamics and trend analyses to refine bunker planning.
  • Monitor the impact of new marine bunker legislation and specifications, providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Source and evaluate new bunker suppliers and traders, managing ongoing relationships.
  • Identify value improvement opportunities and lead bunker-related improvement projects with stakeholders.
