Description Position: Burner/Plasma Operator Reports to: Production Supervisor Basic summary of the job: Operates CNC burning equipment to produce burned parts according to preprogrammed dimensions, meeting quality and quantity standards on a consistent basis. Essential (primary) functions: Gathers materials required to fill work orders, sets up burning tables with materials Operates CNC burning equipment based on programs supplied by the Production programmer Assures proper operation of equipment by monitoring quality of parts produced and conducting 1st Article procedures Assures materials exiting burning machines meet drawing requirements and quality standards Package and mark materials as necessary May stage materials properly to assure loaders can efficiently lift and load materials Reports accidents, injuries and incidents immediately to the supervisor Responsible for assuring productivity standards are consistently met Responsible for assuring quality requirements are consistently met Responsible for maintaining an orderly work area around utilized machines, drop areas and material staging areas Responsible for drop management and drop utilization Follow all safety procedures Adhere to Quality policy at all times Follow written quality procedures for specific job functions assigned Requirements Required education/experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of one year experience utilizing CNC burning equipment in a steel fabrication, service center or manufacturing environment heavily preferred, other experience considered. Necessary (required) skills: Must have experience in use of measuring equipment ie; tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc. Basic math skills including decimals and fractions are required. Must be organized and self-motivated Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment. Expected to be on time and strive for perfect attendance, as a minimum, following the TBSC attendance policy. PHYSICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to walk, stand, sit, apply all motor functions in order to perform the job. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, operate overhead cranes and forklift.
Responsibilities
