Description
The Burr Bench Operator performs hand and/or machine deburring/finishing operations on product piece-parts for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems. In this function you will: Remove sharp or rough edges, fins, overlaps, etc. on castings, molded, and unfinished parts Select tooling sequence of operation when not prescribed Select and use all hand or power tools, fixtures, and gages necessary for specific tasks Inspect all parts produced against job specifications Perform routine machine maintenance All other related duties as assigned High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee Experience within a Manufacturing environment Experience in hand and/or machine deburring/finishing operationsd qualifications: Experience in hand and/or machine deburring/finishing operations Experience with the following operations: filing, sanding, chamfering, scraping, emery rubbing, etc. Position Criteria: Must possess basic math skills and gaging techniques Must be able to read and evaluate various types of readouts and presentations including blueprints, assembly drawings, sketches, and analysis sheets, to determine the status of units and/or their components Must demonstrate good manual dexterity and the ability to maintain fine finishes, contour, dimensions, and uniformity of shape on product piece-parts. Must demonstrate the ability to select and use all hand or power tools, fixtures, and gages necessary for the job. Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills Must be able to work with limited supervision
