Description Alexandria Area YMCA | Alexandria, MN Part-Time | Approximately 25 Hours per Week Monday–Friday | Hours Vary Between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. $25.00 per Hour Drive With Purpose: The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Bus Driver to provide transportation for YMCA programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring children arrive safely while maintaining a positive, supportive atmosphere that reflects YMCA values. Schedule Details: Approximately 25 hours per week Monday–Friday Shifts vary between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. What You'll Do: As a YMCA Bus Driver, you will: Safely operate the bus in accordance with YMCA policies and state laws Complete detailed pre- and post-trip inspections Record mileage, gas levels, and maintenance information Maintain a clean and safe bus environment Ensure bus safety rules are clearly communicated and followed Keep first aid supplies stocked and accessible Respond appropriately in emergency situations Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members Provide additional program support as assigned This role is about more than transportation — it’s about creating a safe and welcoming experience from the moment children step onto the bus. Requirements At least one year of bus driving experience preferred Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) appropriate for passenger transport Knowledge of laws and regulations related to commercial passenger vehicles CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire Ability and desire to work with children Strong communication and relationship-building skills Excellent safety awareness and sound judgment Work Environment: Ability to safely drive for extended periods Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards Commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times Why Work At The YMCA?
