Description Join our team at Bethany Village as a Per Diem Bus Driver, where you’ll play an important role in supporting the independence and well-being of our residents. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors, values safety, and takes pride in providing reliable and friendly transportation services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs a daily safety check on the bus/vehicle before transporting residents. Properly setting-up the bus for transportation - includes removing or re-arranging seats for wheelchair accessibility. Informs the Maintenance Supervisor immediately of any malfunction of equipment or any hazardous condition. Refuels the bus/vehicle as needed or requested. Checks and cleans inside and outside of the bus / vehicle when necessary, and as requested. Transports residents daily according to reservation schedule. Coordinates resident departure and pick-up times with the resident. Maintains records for resident transportation charges. Basic Duties & Responsibilities: Attends and participate in campus workshops, seminars, etc. as approved by supervisor. Maintains confidentiality of residents' personal and medical record information. Adheres to all established safety regulations. Judgment is required in order to make independent decisions. Endorse and comply with the vision, objectives, procedures, and policies of Bethany Village. Requirements Education Required: High School Diploma recommended for this position. Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language is required. Valid driver’s license required Experience Required: We could expect it to take around one month of on the job experience to satisfactorily perform this job. Experience in the Human Services transportation field helpful.
Responsibilities
The Bus Driver performs daily safety checks, prepares the vehicle for resident transportation including wheelchair accessibility setup, and refuels the bus as needed. They are responsible for transporting residents according to the schedule, coordinating departure and pick-up times, and maintaining transportation charge records.
