MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be licensed and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience driving a bus, automobile, and light truck with high proficiency is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of prior corrosion control professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy and/or specialized automotive equipment.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain certification to operate a vehicle on the airfield, to include meeting all color vision testing IAW AAFI 13-204 and local airfield driving instruction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, passport from their country have ability to obtain any visa required.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Provide bus shuttle services. Diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot vehicle malfunctions, repair problems, and corrosion control to ensure correct operation. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide vehicle operations, maintenance, and support for all registered and non-registered government vehicles to include approved vehicles from the host organization, AAAF Tenants, other Government contractors or contractors as approved by the Contracting Officer or SLD 45 Support Agreements.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles and vehicle support equipment.
  • Provide vehicle services (management and maintenance) and ground transportation services.
  • Provide for efficient and economical operation and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
  • Ensure that all vehicles released from vehicle maintenance shop shall meet standards.
  • Perform corrosion-prevention treatment of all vehicles before delivering them to any organization IAW T.O. 36-1-191, Chap 6 or as directed by SLD 45, to include washing waxing.
  • Utilize the Government furnished “metalizing” equipment.
  • Drive passengers and other items to the specified destination in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain a log of receipts and delivered articles/passengers.
  • Assist in the maintenance, fueling, and cleanup of assigned vehicles to ensure a safe, professional performing and appearing vehicle.
  • Inspect vehicles for defects before and after trips.
  • Monitor vehicle during trips and submit reports indicating vehicle condition.
