A Day in the Life as a Bus Driver: As a Bus Driver you’ll be responsible for operating small buses, (less than 16 passengers), in the provision of transportation services to passengers with regard to their safety, confidence and comfort. Must obey all applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations. Your day will involve: Operate vehicles maintain high safety standards and passenger confidence. Follow established routes and schedule in a timely manner. Responsible for accurate communication pertaining to changes in passenger itinerary. Maintain professional boundaries with all current, past and prospective clients and maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff per CAPBM policy and procedure. Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements. Be Punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors. Your role will directly contribute to a positive participant experience, while helping to provide a convenient and safe transportation service to our community! Requirements Qualifications to Be Bus Driver: To excel in this role, you’ll need: Experience: At least 1 year of bus driving experience, including transporting passengers. Must have the ability to always be polite and courteous in dealing with passengers and negotiating traffic. Skills: Using own discretion in operating during adverse weather conditions and informing immediate supervisor of such conditions. Reporting incidents/accidents as soon as they occur to the immediate supervisor, Director or proper authorities, and adhering to all emergency procedures. Reporting breakdowns to your dispatcher and immediate supervisor while adhering to breakdown procedures. Successful completion of criminal record and driver record checks. Valid driver’s license. Valid NHDOT card. Complete driver training courses within required timeframe and have obtained a Certificate of Completion. (Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance and Emergency Evacuation). Must pass Agency Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing to be qualified. Required to participate in random drug and alcohol testing as established by Agency Drug & Alcohol policies for safety sensitive employees. Characteristics: Trains substitute drivers as requested. Courteous, personable and respectful. Technical: Must comply with Agency policies on undergoing criminal record checks with the Bureau of Elder and Adult Services and NH Department of Safety Division of State Police. Must pass Agency Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing to be qualified. Must maintain Department of Motor Vehicle records that are compliant with the loss control requirements established by the Agency’s insurance carrier. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required, as some travel within the community may be necessary. Ready to Apply?
