SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Bus Mechanic or in a similar role working with heavy vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical bus systems.
  • Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • A valid driving license (preferably with a Category D entitlement, though not essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of buses and coaches.
  • Carry out diagnostic testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
  • Perform inspections to ensure buses meet all safety, operational, and legal requirements.
  • Work on various systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
  • Record all work completed, including parts used, and ensure maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient fleet operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
