Job Code: 61027   Salary Grade: 8   Salary: $17.68 - $26.92   FLSA: Nonexempt Essential Functions:  The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.   * Drives passenger mini bus on an assigned route to transport passengers between County facilities and other designated locations in a safe and courteous manner.  * Ensures safe loading and unloading of passengers, including operation of specialized equipment for passengers with special needs such as wheelchairs.  * Assists individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities, ensuring passenger safety.  * Communicates with passengers, providing information and responding to inquiries.  * Consults with Supervisor on a regular basis concerning schedule and route.  * Performs pre- and post-trip bus inspection to ensure proper operating conditions, cleanliness of vehicle, and compliance with safety standards.  * Performs basic vehicle maintenance service, such as checking fluid levels, and makes minor repairs to vehicle as needed.  * Reports any equipment malfunctions or potential problems with vehicle and coordinates with Fleet Maintenance for preventative maintenance and repair.  * Provides written and verbal reports to document incidents, including accident reports and repair requests. * Responds to emergency situations involving passengers or other vehicles for the purpose of maintaining passenger safety.  Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems; and communicates via telephone and/or two-way radio. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required; one year of experience in the operation of commercial motor vehicles, including driving large vans or buses, or a related field.  Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement. Supplemental Duties: * Coordinate with Senior Center managers to schedule group trips. * Assign vehicles and temp drivers for scheduled trips and verify trip details when additional drivers are needed. * Prepare drivers’ invoices and submit them for processing. * Assign drivers for all vehicle maintenance and repairs. * Maintain vehicle records as they pertain to State required monitoring. * Schedule maintenance, cleaning, fueling and repair of County vehicle.
