SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  None.     SUMMARY  Responsible for creating employment opportunities for Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) registered customers through business canvassing, targeted employer presentations, development of customized “Work-Based Training” opportunities, and the provision of customer job referrals.         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Identifies and targets new and existing businesses for work-based training opportunities.   Meets regularly with employers to ascertain needs and provide presentations relative to the services available to businesses under WIOA.   Works collaboratively with Academic and Career Advisor(s) and job seekers to customize job development/creation efforts.   Returns all customer calls within 24 hours and documents in Cal Jobs system.   Makes cold calls to generate business leads.   Develops customized subsidized work-based training opportunities with private and public sector for profit and non-profit entities to enhance career related work-based skills designed to meet the training and support service needs of customers.   Conducts supervisor and customer orientation sessions to review supervisory responsibilities, work requirements, accident reporting requirements and additional maintenance of effort requirements.    Generates and expedites necessary training contracts, documents and conducts supervisor/customer orientation sessions.   Ensures customer time and attendance records are submitted and processed in a timely fashion.   Assists with the evaluation of customer job readiness skills along with providing consultation and instruction in deficient areas.   Answers telephones, takes messages, copies documents, completes eligibility documentation and enters customer data into Client Management System (CMS).   Travels for agency business using reliable transportation.   Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.    Works evenings and weekends as required.   Performs other duties as assigned.     QUALIFICATIONS To execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   EDUCATION: * High school diploma or GED. * Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field required. Additional relevant work experience may substitute education on a year-by-year basis.   EXPERIENCE: * One (1) year related work experience including the creation of employment opportunities under the WIOA and/or private and public sector required.   OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work well with youth/teens and diverse population, and with contracted service providers and representatives of partnering agencies.   Effective presentation, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.   Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.   Bilingual in English and Spanish/Hmong preferred based on the needs of the clients and the program.   Prior to employment must pass required background investigation including acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.   COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.   Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
