Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role provides essential administrative support to help the agency run efficiently, particularly in relation to the recruitment and onboarding of foster carers. You will contribute to a smooth and professional experience for applicants, ensure accurate record-keeping, and help maintain compliance with fostering regulations and safeguarding standards.
Through your work, you will develop strong organisational and communication skills, gain confidence in liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders, and learn how to work effectively as part of a dedicated team that supports vulnerable children and young people.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (FOSTERING CONTEXT)

  • Supporting foster carer recruitment by processing application forms, checking for completeness, and maintaining accurate applicant records in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing progress updates to managers and recruitment officers to ensure timely communication with applicants.
  • Carrying out core administrative tasks including filing, scanning, photocopying, and accurate data entry into case management systems.
  • Taking and distributing meeting minutes promptly, particularly for recruitment, placement, and panel preparation meetings.
  • Maintaining secure, up-to-date records in accordance with agency procedures, Ofsted standards, and data protection laws.
  • Assisting with document preparation and correspondence such as welcome packs, interview confirmations, and reference requests.
  • Providing general administrative support to colleagues, including helping with events, training coordination, and panel administration.
  • Ensuring strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information about foster carers, applicants, and children.
