OVERVIEW

Simcoe Parts Service is currently recruiting for a Business Admin Co-Op to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a soon to be grad who is interested in expanding their skills within the Human Resources field. This position is a part of a strong team environment.
In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day function of the HR department. You will play a critical role in supporting employee engagement, attendance management and various program initiatives. SPS’s Co-op program aims to provide students with valuable development experience that can be leveraged in future HR career opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Confident with software, such as MS Word and Excel. Intermediate knowledge preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail of written communications
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Have a ‘Can-do attitude’ and the desire to go above and beyond
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Must be prepared to sign, and abide by, a confidentiality agreement
  • Working towards completion of a university or college degree in human resources or related field
  • Willingness to take initiative, research and bring forward solutions/improvement ideas

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team such as data entry, meeting scheduling, filing, etc.
  • Assist the HR team with the implementation of HR programs, communications, Social Media, and/or various HR initiatives
  • Prepare and update presentations, charts, and reports as needed
  • Support internal recruitment including job postings, organizing and supporting interviews, drafting promotion letters, etc.
  • Participate in and support HR engagement projects and team committees such as SPS Cares
  • This role provides additional support on a as needed basis to the Human Resources and Recruitment and Training department
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Ensure compliance with Employment Standards Act
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Follow, participate, and make recommendations regarding safety, environmental performance, quality, productivity, and customer feedback.
  • Supporting engagement surveys
  • Reception desk when required
  • Other duties as assigned
