Position Title: Business Administration Instructor
Reports To: Lead Instructor/Campus Administrator
Location: PIMT Calgary Campus, Hybrid
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6pm - 10pm (22hrs/wk)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Business Administration Instructor plays a pivotal role in delivering business curriculum and ensuring regulatory compliance under Alberta’s Private Vocational Training Act and Regulation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality instruction, maintaining required instructor documentation, and contributing to PIMT’s ongoing accreditation and reporting obligations.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPLIANCE

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or closely related field; a Masters degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience and instructional experience required for PCC instructor documentation.
  • Strong business subject-matter expertise and effective teaching skills, especially in vocational/training contexts.
  • Experience with curriculum development, adult learning principles, and/or instructional design is an asset.
  • Proficient in digital tools and platforms for online or blended learning environments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate records and meeting regulatory obligations.
  • Criminal record check (vulnerable sector) may be required depending on institutional policy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver business administration courses (e.g., Marketing, Accounting, Management, Business Law).
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with both industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate engaging in-person or virtual classes using active learning strategies (case studies, projects, etc.).
  • Track and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback and academic support.
  • Maintain student records (attendance, grades, transcripts, assessments) in compliance with PCC standards.
  • Submit and retain instructor qualification documentation (resumes, credentials, evidence of relevant experience).
  • Participate in curriculum reviews to ensure program relevance and labor market alignment updated at least every two years.
  • Support annual reporting requirements, including data on graduation and job placement rates (minimum 70% threshold to maintain licensure).
  • Assist with inspections or desk audits as needed, ensuring documentation and teaching practices are in compliance.
