The Cascadia Society is a small, urban Camphill life-sharing community that includes adults with special needs. We provide cultural, artistic, and therapeutic experiences through day activities and residential home care within Vancouver’s North Shore. Our work is inspired by the principles of Anthroposophy and the Camphill movement, fostering inclusion, creativity, and a sense of belonging for all.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Administrator to provide strategic and operational leadership in finance, risk management, contracts, facilities, and information systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven nonprofit environment and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Formal education toward an accounting designation and/or relevant experience in bookkeeping & public practice (nonprofit experience an asset).
· 3–5 years’ accounting, financial management, and reporting experience.
· Proficiency in MS365, QuickBooks, Dayforce, and MS Office.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent planning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
· Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

· Lead financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
· Manage accounts payable/receivable, donations, contracts, and membership communications.
· Oversee administrative personnel (1–2 staff).
· Maintain internal controls, financial records, and monthly payroll administration including statutory reporting.
· Coordinate annual audits and accreditation processes.
· Oversee facilities maintenance, information security, and IT needs.
· Collaborate with leadership to implement strategic and operational plans.
· Represent Cascadia’s mission and values to stakeholders and the community.
