Title: Business Analyst

Duration: Until EOY extension possible

Salary: £40.87 p/h (£85,000 per annum)

Location: Remote (Must be based in and working from the UK)

We are seeking a highly proactive Business Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI and a focus on Business Operations (finance, contracts, and general business processes). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, business-ready insights by transforming trusted, curated data into clear, intuitive, and visually compelling dashboards that support decision-making across the organisation.

This is not a passive reporting role. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in the quality of their outputs, and consistently produces polished, executive-ready reporting. They will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, design effective reporting solutions, and ensure that outputs are both analytically sound and visually exceptional.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Partner with finance, contracts, and business operations stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reporting solutions
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights, trends, and risks to stakeholders at different levels (operational to executive)
  • Create and maintain semantic models leveraging established, curated data sources

Data Interpretation & Insight Delivery

  • Analyse business data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, supporting operational decision-making
  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned to agreed definitions and metrics

Power BI Design & User Experience

  • Design visually compelling, easy-to-navigate dashboards with a strong focus on layout, alignment, and usability
  • Apply best practices in data visualisation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professional presentation standards
  • Continuously improve report design to enhance user experience and adoption

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to refine requirements and iterate on reporting solutions
  • Support adoption of reporting by ensuring outputs are intuitive, relevant, and aligned to business needs

Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure reporting aligns with established data governance, access controls, and organisational standards
  • Maintain documentation and consistency across reporting outputs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in Business Analysis, Reporting, or Analytics roles
  • Proven experience working with business operations, finance, or contract-related data
  • Extensive Power BI experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Portfolio / examples of work required
  • Technical proficiency - Experience with DAX and semantic models.

Key Expectations:

  • Strong attention to detail, with a high standard for formatting, alignment, and overall presentation quality
  • Ability to follow defined standards, processes, and design guidelines while maintaining consistency across outputs
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to independently manage requirements and deliver high-quality results
  • Comfortable working in structured environments with defined data sources rather than building pipelines from scratch
