Mō te Tūranga | About the Role As part of BNZ's lending platform domain, you will play a crucial role in supporting our home lending platforms. You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to deliver connected and unified experiences across lending platforms. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in understanding and analysing business requirements for the lending programme. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure that the delivered solutions meet the needs of the business and our customers. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing change according to agreed standards and business analysis processes, tools and artefacts. This includes your ability to interpret technical information and advise the business while engaging with your team to deliver on these solutions. We sat down with our Platform Owner - Lending (Who you'll report to), and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role). What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete? Provide quality support and ownership for the systems that your team look after. Answering questions or issues that the business may have which meets all SLA requirements. Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to deliver connected and unified experiences across digital and colleague channels. Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders and the platform team to capture and document business needs for shared understanding. Support the definition, prioritisation, and ongoing measurements of outcomes to ensure initiatives stay on track to deliver measurable value. Able to work effectively at a technical level as an integral part of a digital product team. What will success look like for the candidate in this role? Successful candidates will contribute to building a strong foundation with modern technology. They will help deliver connected, unified experiences that enhance both colleague collaboration and customer satisfaction. Their efforts will result in a seamless and improved experience for both colleagues and customers, enabling simpler lending processes and more consistent interactions across channels. What specific skills and experience would be beneficial for this role? This is an opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with a proven track record supporting IT projects through structured analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and clear documentation. You will also bring experience: Gathering and refining business and technical requirements through workshops and stakeholder discussions. Working with developers, testers, platform owners, and business users to maintain alignment and shared understanding. Solving complex problems, analysing data and systems, and providing actionable insights. Mapping processes, data flows, and system interactions to support solution design. Exposure to lending origination systems, processes, and customer journeys in retail and business banking. Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in New Zealand banking sector, including credit, affordability, responsible lending, and risk management.
