WHO WE ARE

Commercial Services Group (CSG) is one of the largest providers of public sector and education procurement services globally. Wholly owned by Kent County Council, we generate revenues of over £500m, employ 1,800 staff, and operate across four trading portfolios: Children & Education, People & Talent, Energy & Environment, and Procurement & Partnerships.
We support over 15,000 customers in more than 85 countries and work with a supply chain of around 1,000 suppliers. With a strong track record of growth and reinvestment into frontline public services, CSG combines commercial performance with meaningful social impact.

Responsibilities

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

The Business Analyst role is central to supporting CSG’s transformation agenda. Working across all trading divisions and support functions, you’ll help identify opportunities for improvement, analyse current processes, and design solutions that deliver measurable benefits. By facilitating collaboration, capturing requirements, and supporting project teams, you’ll directly contribute to delivering strategic change and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the Group.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Identify and engage with stakeholders across divisions and support services
  • Investigate and define business problems and opportunities
  • Challenge assumptions to ensure robust, forward-looking solutions
  • Carry out current state analysis – mapping existing processes, systems, and pain points
  • Gather business requirements through workshops, interviews, documentation reviews, and analysis
  • Create user stories and use cases to support proposed solutions
  • Develop future state process maps and customer journeys
  • Support project teams in evaluating options, developing business cases, and documenting gateways
  • Contribute to training collateral, test scenarios, and user acceptance testing
  • Support benefits realisation assessments and lessons learned reviews
  • Provide update reports to project sponsors, steering groups, and key stakeholders
  • Deliver process mapping and management training across divisions
  • Coach and support colleagues to drive continuous improvement
