Creative Door Services, North America’s largest overhead door dealer, operates nine branches across Western Canada and we have over 50 years of experience in the residential and commercial overhead door industry. We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and driveway gate systems, operators and associated controls. Description for Internal Candidates
Role: We have an immediate opening for a Business Analyst located in the Corporate office in Edmonton. Reporting to the VP Finance, the Business Analyst will provide financial and business metrics, reporting, analysis and recommendations to the CDS Executive team.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent systems skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with Oracle ESSBASE is an asset
  • Experience with Oracle or an integrated ERP system is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Results and deadline oriented, strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to identify process improvements, ability and desire to take action
  • Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related role.
  • Hold a Degree or Applied Degree in Business Administration
  • CPA / CFA candidate or accreditation is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Support for CDS business planning process for branch locations includes annual budget planning, monthly forecasting process, interim estimates, strategic planning process, fixed asset maintenance, and cost center reporting.
  • Develop reports and provide analysis of the following:Forward integration evaluation; new locations, break-even analysis, new market opportunities, facilities expansion/utilization, and headcount efficiency
    Assist in upgrading our financial reporting/analysis system to streamline data collection, provide reporting flexibility, and generate improved analytical tools for product line and channel reporting.
    Special projects as assigned to improve business processes and provide value-added analysis
    Other duties, as assigned

    Business-case analysis for new and/or strategic initiatives
    GP/GM/EBIT Trends, issues and mitigation recommendations
    Fleet, facilities, and equipment analysis for return on investment optimization
    Costing analysis and mitigation recommendations; projects, inventory, labour, freight, vendor/supplier
    Inventory management and turns analysis and recommendations
    Labor utilization and efficiency
    Asset management and utilization
