THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer’s Energy & Utilities division is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Finance Performance team on a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting operational transformation projects that standardise operating models across multiple business support functions.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner with stakeholders across the organisation to analyse processes, gather requirements, and define solutions that drive efficiency, consistency, and accountability. You’ll work in a collaborative team environment where ownership and continuous improvement are at the core of what we do.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Business Analyst who brings:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a business analyst or similar role, ideally within Energy & Utilities or complex industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex processes into clear solutions.
  • Experience in Finance, Commercial and/or Risk environments.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, Power Query, Power Apps, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Analyse processes, gather business requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Document business processes, standardised definitions, and agreed solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Risk, and Operations to align outcomes.
  • Support solution design, testing, and implementation with Downer Digital and project teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business users and technical teams.
