JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with experience in healthcare EDI transactions and a strong understanding of HIPAA standards for a 6-month 1099 contract opportunity. This is a remote position working with a leading healthcare organization.
You will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements, successful implementation of solutions, and thorough testing of systems and processes.
Location: Remote (DMV Based - Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Duration: 6 Months

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in business, systems, data, or testing analysis
• Strong working knowledge of EDI file formats and X12 standards (e.g., 837, 835, 834, 270/271)
• Understanding of HIPAA-compliant EDI transactions
• Proven ability to conduct requirements gathering and perform UAT
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel)

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with EDI mapping and translation tools
• Strong data analysis and trend identification
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
• Effective stakeholder management

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements from stakeholders
• Support the creation of project plans and participate in requirements verification sessions
• Facilitate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test documentation and issue resolution
• Identify system or process issues and develop low-complexity solutions
• Create clear, well-organized documentation of user and system needs
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met
