Job Description:
Reporting directly to the ERP Manager, a Business Analyst of Business Technology will help deliver innovative solutions to our internal and external stakeholders. As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with the business users, developers, and project managers to understand the business needs, document the requirements, and support the testing and implementation of the solutions. You will also act as a liaison between the business and the technology teams and ensure the alignment of the business goals and the technology capabilities.
Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with the business operations to develop an understanding of their business processes, assess end user needs and evaluate proposed system enhancements for suitability
- Utilize ERP application knowledge and expertise to recommend solutions that meet business requirements and resolve questions related to process changes impacting applications
- Document high level and detailed functional requirements, functional designs, including business process flow charts, current state, future state, gaps, training materials, and end user documentation
- Take ownership of the overall key processes and related functions throughout the ERP and provide functional expertise to ensure solutions are efficiently and effectively implemented
- Responsible for implementing enhancements, configuration changes, reports and integrations within the ERP to meet business objectives
- Conduct system testing of ERP functionality to ensure business processes are supported
- Create test plans for implemented software and provide training on software changes when appropriate
- Test the accuracy and completeness of all enhancements and customizations in the ERP
- Generate and update system and process documentation as required
- Transfer system knowledge to internal support teams through documentation and formal training sessions
- Escalate issues appropriately that require leadership involvement
- Partner with business operations teams to resolve any production support issues that may arise
- Follow the Change Management policy and procedures required to comply with SOX controls.
- Special projects and related duties as required
Experience and Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in computing, finance, business administration, or related field
- 5 plus years proven experience working as a Functional Lead or Business Analyst of which 3 years working directly with Dynamics 365 F&O
- 3 plus years of Finance experience, preferably in Dynamics 365 F&O
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
- Participation in a Dynamics 365 F&O implementation is an asset
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Compliance methodology
- Functional implementation, optimization & support experience for a medium-large organization spread across multiple locations
- Strong analytical, customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- A business analysis certification/designation would be a strong asset
