We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst to join our growing Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance team! In this role, you will act as a critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze, document, and optimize business processes, systems, and data to support operational goals and strategic initiatives.

Primary Job Responsibilities (consists of but are not limited to):

  • Work with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and IT teams to gather and document business requirements for Commercial Lines P&C insurance products, services, and processes.
  • Analyze current workflows, systems, and data structures to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with product managers, project managers, and developers to translate requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA), user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide implementation support for internal and external system buildouts.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server Management System (MSSMS), or Excel to support data-driven decision-making and troubleshooting existing data issues.
  • Produce timely and high-quality requirements-related work products, including requirement specifications, process flows, mock-ups and wireframes.
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Help develop user guides and other related materials.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain exemplary company standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Commercial P&C insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance operations, including policy lifecycle (quote, bind, issue, endorse, renew, cancel).
  • Proficiency in business process modeling (BPMN), data analysis, and requirements documentation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accommodate continuous and repetitive hand and arm movement on keyboard and look at computer screens for long periods.
  • Ability to work on a team; be a team player with a good attitude with limited supervision.
  • Ability to travel to/work from the Wakefield, MA office once or twice a week.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Wagile).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (ISO filings, state-specific regulations, etc.).
  • Experience with multi-tenant hosting applications, SaaS, SOC and SOC2 compliance a plus.
  • Familiarity with insurance software platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco) is a plus.
