EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree reqiured in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in systems analysis, business analysis, or solution delivery roles with a strong technical orientation required.
  • Prior experience in Agile/Scrum or SAFe Agile environments is preferred.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AS APPLICABLE:

  • Demonstrated experience working with REST APIs, data integration projects, and structured requirements documentation.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data tools is required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to translate complex business concepts into precise technical specifications and solution documentation.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design concepts, data modeling techniques, and software development practices.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, QA, product, and business teams.
  • Knowledge of insurance systems and concepts preferred, with willingness to grow into subject matter expertise.
  • Comfortable with documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart) and capable of producing high-quality specs, diagrams, and process documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic Agile delivery model, maintaining both speed and quality.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AS APPLICABLE:

  • Strong understanding of API design principles, request/response modeling, and integration standards.
  • Proficient in writing and validating SQL queries, data profiling, and supporting system integration logic.
  • Must collaborate with business teams and leaders to identify data and reporting needs.
  • Utilize SQL to extract and analyze large amounts of data including testing and validation of data sets, balancing, etc.
  • Perform data profiling and data-in-context analysis to support data warehousing projects, data conversion, and data quality issues
  • Perform database structure research and create data mapping documents in order to understand relevant data elements along with their definitions and use
  • Partner with data governance and data architecture teams to maintain metadata and lineage in data governance app
  • Prior experience with AWS cloud data architectures, data warehousing, BI tools and Insurance domain preferred.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the Business Analyst III (BA III) is to support business and IT teams in implementing scalable, technically sound technology solutions that align with ICW’s strategic goals. The BA III plays a dual role—combining strong analytical and domain expertise with hands-on technical capability to drive the design, documentation, and delivery of technology solutions.
This role requires fluency in modern systems analysis practices, data analysis, and collaboration with developers and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to define and validate technical requirements. The BA III works within cross-functional PODs to ensure the architectural integrity and business alignment of technology solutions, particularly those that involve API development, data modeling, and insurance systems integration.
The BA III demonstrates ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement in the way they elicit, manage, and deliver technical requirements, and is expected to either possess or rapidly build insurance industry fluency to effectively contextualize business needs.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AS APPLICABLE.

  • Creates and maintains API specifications, payload definitions, endpoint documentation, and data mappings using tools such as Swagger, Postman, or Confluence.
  • Writes and executes SQL queries to validate data mappings, support integration testing, and troubleshooting complex issues across systems.
  • Collaborates with engineers to review API behavior, perform logic inspections, and ensure solution alignment with ICW’s architecture runway and standards.
