Business Analyst – Insurance Transformation Role Overview You will play a critical role in driving transformation initiatives across Life & Health Insurance operations within a large-scale banking environment. This includes supporting end-to-end process improvements across underwriting, claims, policy servicing, and risk controls. In this role, you will work at the intersection of business and technology—translating business requirements into actionable solutions while ensuring alignment with operational, regulatory, and customer experience objectives. You will be expected to bring a strong consulting mindset, structured problem-solving capability, and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across both business and technology functions. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management You will: Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements across insurance functions including underwriting, claims, policy servicing, and risk controls Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation Ensure requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with business objectives Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to validate requirements and priorities Process Analysis & Transformation Support You will: Analyze current-state processes and identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities Support the design of target-state processes aligned with transformation goals Assist in process re-engineering initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience Ensure alignment of business processes with regulatory and risk control requirements within a banking environment Solution Design & Delivery Support You will: Collaborate with technology teams to support solution design and ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system functionalities Participate in system design discussions, ensuring alignment with business workflows and operational needs Support implementation activities, including functional validation and alignment with business expectations Work closely with delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of transformation initiatives Stakeholder Management & Communication You will: Engage with business stakeholders, including operations, risk, and product teams Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Support executive-level updates by preparing structured reports, presentations, and insights Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure alignment and clarity Testing & Change Support You will: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating solutions against business requirements Assist in identifying defects, gaps, and improvement areas during testing cycles Support change management activities, including documentation and user readiness Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned with transformation objectives Required Experience & Background 4–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst within insurance, banking, or financial services environments Strong experience in Life & Health Insurance domains, including: Underwriting Claims Policy Servicing Risk Controls Experience supporting business transformation or process improvement initiatives Exposure to working within large enterprise or banking environments Core Skills Business requirements gathering and documentation Process mapping and analysis Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation Strong analytical and problem-solving capability Ability to bridge business and technology teams effectively Preferred Experience Prior experience in Hong Kong insurance consulting engagements Exposure to regulatory and compliance considerations within banking or insurance environments Experience working in large-scale transformation programs Key Attributes Strong consulting mindset with structured thinking Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments Detail-oriented with strong ownership and accountability
