This role is critical in enabling technology to unlock business value; identifying opportunities and leveraging systems to drive operational improvements across digital production and global distribution.
You’ll work as part of a new, autonomous team focused on digital transformation for Global Partnerships. You’ll use your understanding of systems, data and business processes to help shape functional and technical solutions that meet stakeholder needs. From capturing requirements and supporting Agile delivery, to championing user needs and presenting insights to leadership, you’ll play a central role in delivering smarter ways of working across ITV Studios.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • At least 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst across software projects or products
  • A self-starter with a logical, methodical approach and a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Understanding of a range of techniques to elicit, document and communicate requirements, specifications, business processes and data models and communicate these with suppliers and stakeholders alike
  • Experience in the entertainment, media, broadcast or digital content & distribution sectors
  • Experience drafting requirements and acceptance criteria, and being accountable for their successful delivery - using both Agile and traditional methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to translate complex technical information for a wide audience
  • Plan and Execute Quality Assurance and Security testing.
  • Able to present sound and well reasoned arguments / options to convince others of a proposed solution, while retaining empathy for the end user and their experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and structure solutions
  • An understanding of modern methods of accessing and sharing data between software systems, including work with APIs and an understanding of terms like ‘middleware’ and ‘‘data mesh’ would be preferred
Responsibilities
  • Engage with users and stakeholders to understand and document and engineer complex business processes and requirements
  • Replay and validate your understanding of business processes and proposed changes using various techniques such as gap analysis and scope definition
  • Use various techniques to prioritise requirements in the face of competing demands from the business e.g. Initiative portfolio planning
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers and 3rd party suppliers, using Agile SCRUM
  • Use industry knowledge to propose system and process changes that create tangible benefit, aligned to business Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s)
  • Produce and present clear, concise documentation, including Idea Briefs, Discovery outputs (Design, Epics, Stories, Acceptance Criteria, QA, UAT and OAT plans), and presentations, to stakeholders at all organizational levels, effectively explaining opportunities vs risk.
  • Provide detailed analysis of system data (including data rationalisation and cleansing), understanding sources and structures and concepts like data lakes and models.
  • Ensure alignment with architectural, data governance, compliance and security frameworks
  • Represent the business in conversations with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Work with developers/engineering teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure delivered functionality meets or exceeds the needs of the business.
  • Provide advice, guidance and training (including written materials) on the functioning of new systems or functionality to end users.
  • Take a hands-on role in user validation and testing
