Position Summary:
The Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics (
https://c3g.ca
) at McGill University develops open-source research data management solutions across the data generation lifecycle. We work on data discovery and exploration portals, APIs, databases, and other tools, enabling researchers to harmonise, store, retrieve, share, and analyse genomics and clinical data for large-scale studies and international data-sharing initiatives. These focus on areas such as human health research, such as the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), the Quebec COVID-19 Biobank (BQC19), and the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope Cancer Centre Network (MoHCCN). We also deliver bioinformatics analysis software and high performance computing services for the life science research community, including analysis pipelines used by multiple academic institutions.
The Business Analyst will engage in the development and management of online data-sharing solutions, notably the Bento Platform (
https://github.com/bento-platform
), leveraged by the upcoming Pan-Canadian Genome Library (
https://genomelibrary.ca/
), and other projects in the fields of genomics, epigenomics, and life science-related fields.
Under the supervision of the Data Team Lead, the Business Analyst will analyse, document, and manage business requirements, develop comprehensive project plans, and ensure the successful execution of projects. This role involves coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and addressing any risks or issues that arise. The Business Analyst will act as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals. They will also contribute to the design and implementation of user-friendly data-sharing solutions and support quality assurance processes. We aim for short development cycles that involve small but frequent releases, and constant interactions with the bioinformatics platform team members.
